Suspect Arrested in Connection with Murder of Obduliah Sanchez

STOCKTON, CA — San Joaquin County authorities have reportedly arrested a Stockton woman in connection with the December 2025 murder of Obduliah Sanchez.

According to a press release by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies carried out search warrants on Thursday, Mar. 12, on the 2000 block of East 6th St. and 700 block of San Miguel Ave. as part of the investigation.

At this time, deputies reportedly identified Monica Barajas as the suspect. Barajas is accused of fatally shooting Obduliah Sanchez on the 700 block of Gertrude Avenue on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025.

Barajas was booked into the San Joaquin County jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, the sheriff’s office said.
