Sheriff’s Office to Investigate Officer Involved Shooting in Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, CA MARCH 12TH 2026
“This morning, at 11:16 am, a Santa Rosa Police Department officer was dispatched to the 300 block of 10th Street for an unwanted/suspicious individual. During the contact with the individual, a struggle ensued, and the officer was involved in a shooting.
The individual shot was immediately transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The individual is a Caucasian adult male. There is no danger to the safety of our community.
Based on the circumstances, the Santa Rosa Police Department has invoked the Sonoma County Employee Involved Critical Incident Protocol and an independent investigation into this incident will be investigated by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office. More information will be released later today.”
