Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest & Seizure of Loaded Firearm

The Santa Rosa Police Department announced the arrest of an individual in possession of a loaded gun on their official Facebook page –

“During routine patrol, an officer made a traffic stop in the area of Grand Avenue and Pressley Street. The officer contacted the driver and through an investigation, searched the vehicle. The officer located a loaded, Smith & Wesson, 9mm handgun, under the driver’s seat.

After inspecting the gun, the officer noticed the serial number was filed off and the driver had no guns registered to him. The driver was arrested for the following charges:

25860(c)(6) PC – Possession of a loaded/unregistered firearm
25400(a)(1) PC – Possession of a concealed firearm
23900 PC – Obliterated serial number on firearm
14601.2(a) VC – Driving on a suspended license.

The driver was later booked into the Sonoma County Jail.”
