Santa Cruz CHP Seizes Unregistered Firearm in Hwy 152 DUI Arrest
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — MARCH 5TH 2026
“Last night, CHP officers made a stop on HWY 152 due to a traffic violation. As the vehicle stopped, occupants began to discard items from inside the car. Upon investigation, officers located alcoholic beverages and an unregistered firearm nearby.
All five occupants, including three juveniles, were placed into custody on various charges. The driver, a 20-year-old man, was arrested for DUI and in possession of an unregistered firearm.
Thanks to the quick actions of our officers, an impaired driver is off the roads, and an unregistered firearm has been confiscated. We are committed to saving lives and making a difference in our communities.
