CHP Arrest: DUI and Unregistered Firearm Seizure in Castroville
CASTROVILLE, CA — FEBRUARY 28TH 2026
“This morning, CHP officers observed a Toyota SUV fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of SR-183 and SR-1. During the enforcement stop, the driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI. Officers also located a loaded firearm inside the vehicle that was not registered to the driver.
The California Highway Patrol remains committed to the safety of the people of California and reminds motorists: If you plan to drink, plan ahead—designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or call for a safe ride. Driving under the influence puts lives at risk and is 100% preventable.”
