SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a 36-year-old woman on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, following a series of reported hit-and-run incidents. At approximately 3:40 p.m., authorities received an initial report regarding a sedan that had collided with another vehicle near California and Monterey streets before leaving the scene.
As officers responded to the area, two additional calls were received reporting similar collisions involving the same sedan at the intersections of San Luis Drive and Johnson Avenue, as well as Foothill and Santa Rosa streets. In both subsequent instances, the vehicle reportedly drove away after the impact.
Officers eventually located the suspect vehicle, which was found with a flat tire, in the parking lot of San Miguel Taqueria on Santa Rosa Street. The driver was identified as Rovasha Underwood. Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers discovered a large number of empty alcohol bottles in the backseat. One of the other drivers involved in the collisions sustained injuries and sought medical treatment at a local hospital.
Underwood was placed under arrest for suspected driving under the influence, three counts of felony hit and run, and misdemeanor possession of narcotics paraphernalia. During the arrest process, officials stated that Underwood kicked and spit at officers, resulting in an additional charge of battery on a police officer.
