Intoxicated Motorist Allegedly Drives By While Officers Speak with Burglary Suspect; Both Arrested
MADERA, CA — Police reportedly made two arrests when they contacted a man wanted on a felony warrant and an allegedly drunken motorist drove past the scene.
According to a statement published on Sunday, Mar. 1, by the Madera Police Department, officers made contact with Gumaro Frias, 35, during a routine patrol. During this, a motorist drive by — allegedly swerving and with their headlights off.
Officers followed the motorist and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as a 50-year-old Madera resident, was reportedly found to have a blood-alcohol level at over twice the legal limit.
Officers again made contact with Mr. Frias and arrested him on a felony arrest warrant for burglary, police said.
