Collaborative Investigation Leads to Attempted Murder and Kidnapping Arrest in Salinas

MONTEREY, CA – “‼️Attempted Murder Arrest ‼️

Just after midnight on Feb. 8, 2026, a woman called 9-1-1 to report she had been stabbed while riding in a vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. 101 near the Boronda Road off-ramp. She told dispatchers that she escaped from the moving vehicle during the attack.

Through a collaborative investigation between the CHP Investigative Services Unit (ISU) and Salinas Police Department, the suspect was located and arrested on charges which included the suspicion of attempted murder and kidnapping.

The CHP remains committed to holding offenders accountable and protecting the safety of our communities.”
