Man Accused of Driving Drunk, Crashing into Two-Story Home
FAIRFIELD, CA — “On January 31 at around 6:24 pm, Dispatch received notice that a vehicle had collided into a two-story home in the 5300 block of Fields Court.
The caller advised the vehicle was heading eastbound on Hancock Drive and traveling at a high rate of speed before it drove first through a back fence, and then into the back of the residence.
When personnel from Fairfield Fire and officers arrived, the vehicle was trapped under a lot of debris and there was clear structural damage to the two-story residence.
A child inside the residence was struck by debris and extricated from the home by members of Fairfield Fire Department, but sustained no injuries.
The Fairfield Fire Department also extricated the driver, identified as 23-year-old Matthew Salagubang, from the vehicle. Salagubang was transported to a local hospital for treatment, then placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.”
