GPS Tracking Leads to Arrest of Two Suspects Following Stolen Vehicle Pursuit in El Centro

EL CENTRO, CA – “Last night, El Centro Police Officers responded to a report of a silver Chevrolet Silverado that had just been stolen. Officers contacted the victim, who advised he had a GPS tracker on the vehicle and was able to provide real-time location updates.

That information was immediately shared with responding units, and officers quickly located the stolen vehicle traveling southbound on 8th Street.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however the driver failed to yield, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Dogwood and Fawcett.

The driver was safely taken into custody, and the passenger, who was assisted out of the canal, was also taken into custody. Both suspects were provided medical attention prior to being transported to the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office.”
