MARIPOSA COUNTY, CA — The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol conducted a joint enforcement operation on January 22, 2026, along Highway 49. The search was concentrated on the area between Coulterville and Mary Harrison Mine Road following reports of a hit-and-run incident, property damage to multiple vehicles, and a potential assault.
During the search, officials maintained a large law enforcement presence and advised the public to avoid the vicinity. At approximately 10:00 a.m., authorities confirmed that the suspect had been located and taken into custody. Following the arrest, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office cleared the scene.
