Operation “Canna-Bust”

“Illegal drug operations continue to plague our communities.

Our office along with Mariposa County Probation, Mariposa County District Attorney’s Office, Mariposa Public Works, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mariposa County Board of Supervisor Wayne Forsythe, CALFIRE and Mariposa Code Compliance, conducted a two-day operation combating illegal drug trafficking organizations (DTO’s) in Mariposa County.
20 grow locations, evaluated by the Marijuana Enforcement Team tiering system, were deemed to be extremely dangerous. Many of the grows were in very populated communities. Search warrants were served simultaneously by multiple teams throughout the county.

17 arrests were made, 22,575 plants were eradicated, $28,059 money was seized along with 8 guns.

Our office will continue to release videos like these to educate the community on the large scale grows that continue to be problematic for our community. We want to show that these drug trafficking operations are more than just plants.

“These grows are not our legal medical or recreational marijuana use sites. These illegal drug trafficking operations are typically cartel, street gangs or other drug traffickers. The lack of considerations they have for the community, the land and our waterways is just disgusting. The filth that we find at each location is disturbing. The Marijuana Enforcement Team will continue to focus their efforts on these dangerous growing operations. Criminals like this will NOT be tolerated by me or my office. I encourage those DTO’s that we have not busted yet to pack up and leave because we are coming for you.”
