NOVATO, CA — Eric Garcia, 37, and his 71-year-old mother Carolyn Connor were arrested on January 20, as suspected drug dealers. Detectives recovered more than 3.5 pounds of cocaine and other illicit drugs from their Novato residence.
Connor and Garcia became targets of an investigation overseen by the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. Early in the investigation, detectives from the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit intercepted a package of illicit drugs, addressed for delivery to their residence.
The package contained 400 tablets of Tapentadol, a narcotic similar to oxycodone. Next a search warrant was obtained. It resulted in the seizure of all kinds of illicit drugs found inside their residence.
When detectives arrived at the front door, Connor appeared uncooperative as she was detained. “She alerted Garcia to the presence of law enforcement,” according to a prepared statement from the sheriff’s office. Garcia briefly concealed himself down hallway.
Garcia was convinced to surrender himself and he was detained, while their home was searched. Detectives recovered substantial evidence of illicit drug sales being conducted by Garcia.
In addition to the cocaine, detectives also recovered LSD, MDMA, ketamine, more Tapentadol tablets, and other narcotics.
Mother and son were brought to Marin County Jail together. Connor was booked for sale or transportation of a controlled substance. Garcia was booked for possession of controlled substances for sale.
