Homicide Investigation Underway Following Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has initiated a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting in Victorville on the evening of Friday, January 16, 2026. At approximately 8:21 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received multiple calls reporting gunfire in the vicinity of Glen Canyon Lane and Burwood Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located a 14-year-old male, identified as Jeremy Rosales, lying in the street with gunshot wounds.
Medical personnel transported Rosales, a resident of Victorville, to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced deceased by medical staff. Following the confirmation of the death, the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail arrived on the scene and assumed primary responsibility for the case.
As of the current report, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains active. Authorities have stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
