Chevron employee assaulted with skateboard, transient man arrested

A transient man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a convenience store employee with a skateboard.

The incident took place on January 10th at a Chevron located at 12659 Foothill Boulevard in Rancho Cucamonga.  The victim informed police that the suspect, later identified as 46-year-old Christopher Borger, “swung a skateboard at the victim’s head, hitting the victim in the arm when the victim refused to let him in the store to purchase cigarettes,” according to the statement released by the Sheriff’s Department.

The victim used pepper spray to successfully fend off the assailant before calling police.  Borger fled the scene before they arrived.

When deputies found him, Borger was on Foothill Boulevard, near the 15 Freeway.  He was subsequently arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon at the West Valley Detention Center.

Police are asking that anyone with information regarding this incident contact contact Deputy Daniel Nuci at the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department at (909) 477-2800 or leave an anonymous tip through the We-Tip Hotline.
