SONORA, CA — A Tuolumne County man was recently arrested for alleged felony vandalism in connection with an incident in late December of last year.

According to a press release by the Sonora Police Department, officers responded early on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, to the Timberhills Shopping Center to investigate a report of someone breaking a glass panel.

Officers arrived on scene and reportedly identified the primary suspect as Shawn Miles, 51, of the Sonora area.

Miles allegedly tried to flee on foot when officers moved to detain him, leading to a brief foot chase, police said.

Officers ultimately took Miles into custody on suspicion of felony vandalism and resisting a peace officer.
