Kern County Police Arrest Man, 19, for Alleged Negligent Discharge of Firearm
BAKERSFIELD, CA — “On January 14, 2026, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Lamont Substation responded to a report of shots fired near Weedpatch Highway and Kam Avenue, Bakersfield, California in the northern outskirts of Lamont, California.
During the investigation, deputies located a large party at a residence in the 8400 block of Kam Avenue. Deputies discovered fresh spent shell casings and obtained a search warrant for the property. The search of the property revealed a concealed AK-47 rifle and a 1911-style handgun consistent with the spent shell casings located by deputies. Two additional handguns and numerous rounds of live ammunition were also seized.
Cliserio Urias, 19, was arrested and booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility for the following charges:
- P.C. 246.3(A), Discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner
- P.C. 30605(A), Illegal possession of an assault weapon
- P.C. 32310(A), Possession of a large-capacity magazine
