San Diego Police Arrest Nine Following Discovery of Illegal Gambling Operation in City Heights
SAN DIEGO, CA — Officers with the San Diego Police Department executed a targeted enforcement action at a residence in the City Heights neighborhood last weekend, discovering what authorities described as an illegal gambling operation. Upon entering the premises, law enforcement personnel located multiple gambling machines and seized several thousand dollars in currency.
During the search of the property, officers also recovered a loaded firearm that had been previously reported stolen. There were 28 individuals present inside the building at the time of the police intervention. Following an initial assessment and processing of those on-site, officers took nine individuals into custody.
According to department representatives, unlicensed gambling establishments are frequently associated with the presence of weapons and the potential for violent incidents. Officials noted that such operations can lead to broader safety concerns for residents in the immediate vicinity. The San Diego Police Department cited the efforts of the responding officers and detectives involved in the investigation as part of ongoing efforts to address illicit activity within the city.
Law enforcement officials are encouraging community members to report any suspicious or potentially illegal activities observed in their neighborhoods to local authorities for further investigation.
