SAN LORENZO — Detectives from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force
arrested a man on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Erick Salas, 26, of San Leandro, was apprehended on December 9 in nearby San Lorenzo.
Salas is allegedly a member of a major drug trafficking organization in the East Bay region of
the San Francisco metropolitan area. He was identified as a suspect in an ongoing task force
investigation of illicit drug sales.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in San Lorenzo, where Salas was
placed under arrest at 9:50 a.m.
It was there that detectives found a large quantity of illicit drugs and related evidence.
A prepared statement from the sheriff’s office lists following recovered drug-trafficking related
evidence –
· More than 50 pounds of methamphetamine
· Half a kilo of cocaine
· Two ounces of heroin
· 4,000 counterfeit oxycodone “M30 pills” laced with fentanyl
In addition to the illicit drugs, detectives also confiscated four firearms, body armor, and
$14,500 in cash.
The recovered firearms are homemade “ghost guns” assembled from kits,
and difficult to trace.
Salas remains in custody at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail, ineligible for release on bond,
pending a scheduled court hearing on December 22.
He was booked on suspicion of multiple charges related to possession of firearm and
controlled substances for sale, plus an enhancement for the large quantity.
