Fremont Man Arrested for Armed Carjacking

FREMONT — 18-year-old Soloman Howard is in jail after being identified as the primary suspect in an incident on June 6th.

That night, police arrived in the area of Darwin Drive and Denham Drive to investigate reports of a carjacking. The victim described the suspect as a black male adult armed with a handgun.

On June 13, officers found the vehicle unoccupied near Northgate Community Park.

Members of the SVU unit began then began surveillance.

Later that night, someone drove the vehicle into the Cabrillo neighborhood. Additional officers and a CHP Air Unit responded for assistance and, at 9:35 PM, a high-risk stop was conducted on the vehicle, in which there were three occupants.

All three, including Howard, were taken in for questioning.

The carjacking victim identified Howard as his assailant the previous week.

Howard was then formally arrested for armed carjacking.
