Officer Involved Shooting in Victorville: Suspect Fatally Shoot During Warrant Service

VICTORVILLE, CA — On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a lethal force encounter occurred in Victorville as San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department personnel attempted to serve arrest and search warrants. The incident took place at a residence in the 12500 block of Bermuda Court.

The warrants were issued for Charles Murray, a 29-year-old resident of Victorville. The warrants stemmed from an incident on Friday, November 28, 2025, when deputies from the Central Station initiated a traffic stop on Waterman Avenue and Highland Avenue in San Bernardino, contacting Murray, who was reportedly believed to be in possession of a firearm. When ordered to exit his vehicle, Murray allegedly fled at a high rate of speed, leading to a brief vehicle pursuit that was terminated due to the excessive speed of the suspect’s vehicle.

Deputies from the Victorville Sheriff’s Station, along with personnel from the Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT), attempted to serve the warrants at Murray’s Bermuda Court home on December 3. According to the advisory, while deputies were attempting to execute the warrants, Murray armed himself with a firearm and discharged it at the deputies and at a Sheriff’s Aviation Unit helicopter.

During the initial phase of the incident, an uninvolved second person who was inside the residence exited and was subsequently rescued by law enforcement personnel. Following the rescue, Murray exited his residence and reportedly fired upon deputies from the backyard. At that point, a lethal force encounter took place. Charles Murray was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division has assumed responsibility for the investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The department has asked that anyone with information contact Detective J. Lopez or Sergeant Bryan Sprague at 909-890-4904.
