Monterey County Law Enforcement Seizes Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Firearm in Pajaro Search Operation
PAJARO, CA — The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office reported the seizure of narcotics and a firearm following the execution of a search warrant in the 100 block of San Juan Road in Pajaro on Wednesday, December 4, 2025.
Detectives, with assistance from the Greenfield Police Department, served the warrant at approximately 3:14 PM. During the operation, a Sheriff’s K9 unit, identified as K9 Rocket, alerted to the presence of illegal substances inside a vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle, occupied by Refugio Del Campo, age 37, yielded several items. The seized evidence included approximately 2.6 pounds of methamphetamine, 0.5 pounds of cocaine, $1,700 in U.S. currency, and one loaded 9mm handgun.
Sheriff Tina Nieto issued a statement following the operation, emphasizing the agency’s goal. “Our mission is to keep Monterey County safe, and that means interrupting the flow of dangerous drugs and illegal firearms,” Nieto stated. “This successful search warrant was the result of strong investigative work and the capabilities of our K9 program.”
Del Campo was taken into custody and booked into the Monterey County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and felon in possession of a firearm.
