Fatal Hit-and-Run Suspect Reportedly Turns Himself In
REDDING, CA — “On Friday November 28, 2025, at approximately 5:20 PM, Redding Police responded to the area of Hilltop Drive and Palisades Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. They located a 63-year-old female adult victim, with critical injuries. The driver of the involved vehicle had fled the scene without notifying law enforcement or attempting to render aid to the victim. At the time of the collision, the victim was riding a mobility scooter and appeared to be on her way back to a senior living facility, after purchasing some groceries.
The victim succumbed to the injuries she sustained from the collision a short time later. The victim’s identity is being withheld, pending notification of her next of kin. Thanks to assistance from the public, the suspect vehicle was located at an apartment on Hilltop Drive, about one-quarter mile away from the scene of the collision. The registered owner of that vehicle was identified as David Anthony Iniguez, 29-years-old, of Redding.
On Saturday, November 29, 2025, at approximately 8:30 AM, Iniguez turned himself in at the Police Department. Iniguez admitted he had been driving the involved vehicle when the collision occurred but claimed he believed he hit an object and did not know he had struck a person until he saw the news story, after the fact. Iniguez was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail for felony hit and run collision and for vehicular manslaughter.
The Redding Police Department would like to thank our community for all the assistance received during the course of this investigation. Anyone with additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Redding Police Department Traffic Unit or Detectives Division.”
