Visalia Man Faces Charges After Threatening Officers, Attempted Arson Following Altercation

VISALIA, CA –November 13th 2025 —  “Just after 1:20 p.m., Visalia Police officers were called to the 2000 block of North Burke Street following reports of a man stealing lawn ornaments and swinging a metal pipe.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect, 27-year-old Gregorio Juan Julian, holding the pipe. Julian refused multiple commands to drop the weapon. Officers deployed a less-lethal Taser, but it failed to stop him. Julian then began fighting with officers before attempting to run. He was taken into custody a short distance away. During the investigation, officers discovered he had poured lighter fluid in the front yard to seemingly start a fire.

Julian was transported to Kaweah for medical clearance and later booked on charges of PC 69 (resisting an executive officer), PC 594 (vandalism), and attempted arson. #visaliapd”
