Suspicious circumstance death in Condon Park- Homicide Investigation

This morning’s press release is updated with the following information:

As expressed in the original press release dated 11/08/2025, Grass Valley Police Department detectives were called to investigate the discovery of a deceased Caucasian male adult in Condon Park; 660 Mini Street, Grass Valley.

Detectives worked at the scene throughout the day, with assistance from the FBI-Sacramento Evidence Collection Team, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Resuce (SAR) Evidence Team, and the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office. Multiple pieces of evidence were discovered, and this case is now being investigated as a homicide.

This is an active and ongoing investigation and due to the circumstances, no additional information is being released at this time.

The victim was transferred to the custody of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office of the Coroner. Next of kin notification is still pending.

No arrests have been made in this case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Grass Valley Police. Detectives do not believe there is a continued threat to the public or visitors to the park. Your patience today is appreciated, and the park will be reopened for recreation as of 11/09/2025.”

Suspicious circumstance death in Condon Park

This morning, just after 7:00am, the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center received a call for a subject down near the temporary skateboard park within Condon Park: 660 Minnie Street, Grass valley.  the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center received a call for a subject down near the temporary skateboard park within Condon Park: 660 Minnie Street, Grass valley.

Officers arrived at the scene within minutes of the initial call and discovered a deceased Caucasian male adult believed to be in this 30’s. The identify of the deceased is still being determined and will be releasable after notification is make to next of kin.

Currently the manner of death in this case is unknown. The Grass Valley Police Department has requested the assistance of the FBI Evidence Response Team to collect key articles of interest, and have been joined on scene by Investigators from the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office. The impacted area of Condon park is heavily utilized by the public and will remain closed until we are confident all pertinent evidence or property has been collected.

The police department sincerely appreciates the public’s respect and patience for the situation as we work to bring all the facts together. We are saddened by the loss of a community member and will be working diligently to ensure this matter receives the dignity it deserves.
