A Santa Barbara man is in custody and facing serious charges following his arrest for trying to
run down his former partner with his vehicle..

According to the Santa Barbara Police Department spokesman Sgt. Jarrod Foote, on the
afternoon of October 20, 23-year-old Santa Barbara resident Mario Flores Crespo allegedly
“attempted to strike his former partner with his car” following a heated confrontation.

A 911 call to police dispatch reported “a domestic disturbance in progress.”

As SBPD patrol units arrived on the scene, Officers learned Flores Crespo had reportedly made
violent threats before fleeing the scene.

Police  began an intensive search for Flores Crespo, canvassing nearby neighborhoods and
gathering witness accounts.

The following morning, around 9:30 a.m. October 21, officers made contact with Flores Crespo at an Eastside business district intersection. He was then
taken into custody without incident.

Flores Crespo was transported to Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was booked on suspicion
of attempted homicide, criminal threats, and stalking.

He remains in custody with his bail set at $1 million.
