Motorist with No Front Plate Arrested for Alleged Possession of Ghost Gun in Willits

WILLITS, CA — “On October 15, 2025, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a CHP – Garberville Laytonville officer conducted an enforcement stop in Willits, on a vehicle for no front license plate and expired registration.

The vehicle was impounded for the expired registration. A subsequent vehicle inventory led to the discovery of a loaded and unserialized pistol.

Thanks to the thorough investigation by our CHP officer, these dangerous weapons were safely removed from our streets. The driver was booked into county jail for the firearm-related charges.”
