LINDSAY, CA – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation on October 8, 2025, after receiving a report concerning a 14-year-old female who had recently given birth. The individual identified as the father of the newborn was 23-year-old Gerardo Calleja, a resident of Lindsay.
Sheriff’s Office Detectives contacted Mr. Calleja in the presence of the female on October 22, 2025. Mr. Calleja was subsequently taken into custody without confrontation.
Further investigation by law enforcement officials indicated that Mr. Calleja had allegedly been involved in a relationship with the female since she was between the ages of 12 and 13. Records suggest the female became pregnant at age 13. The nature of the charges related to this investigation was not specified in the initial report.
