Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Three Firearms and Three Arrests in Red Bluff
RED BLUFF, CA — On September 29, 2025, at approximately 4:28 p.m., a traffic stop conducted by the Red Bluff Police Department near 550 Main Street resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms and the arrest of three individuals. Corporal Lampron initiated the stop on a vehicle at the Java Detour location, citing illegal window tint as the reason for the stop. The vehicle was reportedly associated with a subject previously investigated for offenses related to firearms.
The driver was identified as Eduardo Garciasandoval, with passengers Wyatt Childers and Harley Epperson. Given prior intelligence concerning possible firearm possession and reported affiliation with the Norteno street gang, additional officers were requested to the scene. The officers detained all vehicle occupants following a safety frisk.
During the process of removing Mr. Childers from the vehicle, officers reportedly observed a black sling bag thought to contain a firearm. As law enforcement personnel moved to secure the item, Mr. Childers attempted to evade apprehension and was detained following a brief foot pursuit. Simultaneously, Ms. Epperson was held at gunpoint after officers observed movements toward the vehicle’s floorboard.
Subsequent to the detention of all three individuals, an unserialized AR-15 style rifle was recovered from the front passenger floorboard. In total, three firearms were seized from the vehicle: a Springfield Hellcat 9mm located under the driver’s seat, a Haskell .45 caliber pistol found in the sling bag, and the aforementioned unserialized AR-15 style rifle. Five high-capacity magazines were also recovered.
Records confirmed that Mr. Childers is an adult subject on juvenile probation and is legally prohibited from possessing firearms. He also had an active warrant for his arrest issued by Shasta County. A small quantity of suspected cocaine was later discovered in Mr. Childers’ wallet and tested positive in a presumptive field test. Officers involved in the incident sustained minor injuries, which included a knee injury and abrasions resulting from resistance during the arrests. All three subjects were transported to and booked into the Tehama County Jail under Case # 25-2395.
