Oceanside Police Serve Search Warrant in Residential Burglary Case; Dispels Immigration Rumors

OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Police Department executed a search warrant on Monday October 20th 2025. The warrant was executed at a private residence located in the 4600 block of North River Road. This action was taken as part of an ongoing investigation targeting two individuals wanted in connection with a residential burglary within the city of Oceanside.

The burglary incident involved the theft of several items, including a firearm, credit cards, and jewelry, all of which officers believed to be in the suspects’ possession at the time of the search. Detectives and uniformed personnel deployed marked and unmarked police vehicles, staging in a nearby parking lot within the Libby Lake area to initiate the operation.

The department has issued a clarification regarding rumors that circulated online in the wake of the operation. Officials stated that false information claiming the operation was an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) action involving OPD was widely shared. The Oceanside Police Department confirmed that no federal officers participated in the investigation or the service of the warrant.

The Oceanside Police Department further affirmed its policy that it does not engage in immigration enforcement activities and remains in compliance with California’s state-level limitations on local police cooperation with federal immigration authorities, specifically Senate Bill 54 (SB 54). The department emphasized that the objective of the operation was focused on accountability for criminal offenders and maintaining public safety for the community.
