SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA — Between September 29 and October 5, 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department carried out a countywide crime suppression initiative known as “Operation Consequences”.
The operation involved investigators from the Gangs/Narcotics Division, deputies from patrol stations, and personnel from partnering agencies. The San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team also conducted proactive patrols in Fontana and surrounding areas.
Over the course of the week, law enforcement served six search warrants in locations that included Fontana, San Bernardino, Colton, Victorville, and Barstow. Investigators contacted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms.
As a result of these efforts, 15 firearms were seized, including two ghost guns, and approximately one pound of methamphetamine was recovered. Authorities also reported nine felony arrests during the operation.
Operation Consequences was made possible through funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to support targeted enforcement and address quality-of-life issues across the county.
The Sheriff’s Department indicated that the operation will continue over the coming months, focusing on the High Desert and areas within the department’s jurisdiction surrounding San Bernardino.
Participating agencies will include the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, County Probation, and Homeland Security Investigations.
The stated goals of the operation are to curb violent crime, dismantle criminal street gangs, and apprehend individuals involved in the illegal possession, manufacture, and trafficking of firearms.
