Stanislaus County Deputies Seize Firearms and 600 Pounds of Marijuana After Domestic Dispute in Ceres

CERES, CA  — Deputies from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call involving a reported domestic dispute during the early morning hours of September 6, 2025. At approximately 2:53 a.m., dispatchers directed deputies to the 5400 block of Central Avenue in Ceres after receiving information about a male subject reportedly fighting with a female.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted two individuals, identified as 30-year-old David Hurtado and 23-year-old Jessie Bobadilla. Both men were detained while deputies continued their investigation. During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered several firearms, ammunition, and approximately 600 pounds of processed marijuana at the location.

Authorities reported that Hurtado was arrested on multiple charges, including making criminal threats, possession of marijuana for sale, and domestic violence. Bobadilla was arrested for accessory in connection with the incident. Both individuals were transported and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.

Officials noted that no injuries were reported at the time of the arrests. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to review the evidence collected from the scene.
