Woodland Police Arrest Two After Fight; Loaded Stolen Handgun Recovered
WOODLAND,CA — “On Sunday at about 8:50 a.m., multiple callers reported a fight near West Cross Street and Daniels Street. One caller stated that a subject was armed with a knife.
Officers arrived and located a group matching the description of those involved. One subject, 18-year-old Woodland resident Jayden Gortarez, matched the description of the person reportedly armed. During a pat-down search, officers found Gortarez in possession of a loaded handgun and ammunition.
Another subject, 33-year-old Woodland resident Juan Carlos Boitez, attempted to interfere with the investigation and was arrested. 32-year-old Marisela Murillo was cited for a misdemeanor warrant, while another female was released without charges.
Further investigation revealed the handgun was stolen. Gortarez was booked on multiple firearm-related charges, and Boitez was booked for interfering with officers.”
