Arrests Made for Attempted Murders at a Downtown Concord Parking Garage

CONCORD, CA — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with three attempted murders at a parking garage in downtown Concord. Three victims who were shot on September 16 required treatment for their injuries at a hospital.
Patrol officers responded the shootings shortly after 10:20 p.m. to a garage on Salvio Street. The police developed leads from descriptions of the suspects and a vehicle used to flee from the scene.
“An hour later deputies from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle,” Concord police said in a prepared statement. The vehicle was stopped and two occupants were detained and subsequently arrested.
Justino Lopez-Perez, 31, was arrested September 16 at 11:51 p.m. Lopez-Perez remains behind bars at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $2.3 million bond.
Erickson A. Melendez, 23, was arrested September 17 at 5:25 a.m. on a Ramey warrant. Bond for his release from the Martinez jail was set at $750,000.
Lopez-Perez is charged with multiple counts of the following charges –
· Attempted murder
· Assault with a semiautomatic firearm
· Shooting at a person from a vehicle
Melendez faces two charges. His charges are shooting at a person from a vehicle, and conspiracy to commit crime.
Concord detectives investigating the shootings continue to follow up leads. On September 17 at 6:30 p.m., a third unidentified suspect was arrested in relation to the shootings. Anyone with information about the shootings can contact Concord police Detective Enrique Espino at 925-671-3426.
