Two Chino Men Arrested in Connection With Fatal Stabbing on 9th Street
CHINO, CA — A police investigation is underway in Chino following a fatal late night altercation, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old Upland man.
At approximately 11:42 p.m. on September 12, Chino Police Department officers were dispatched to the 13000 block of 9th Street after receiving a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers found Angel Martinez, 21, of Upland, who was suffering from injuries sustained during the incident. Martinez was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased despite medical staff’s efforts.
Detectives determined that Martinez had been stabbed during a physical confrontation involving several individuals. The investigation identified two suspects, Joshua Rivera, 18, and Justin Rodriguez, 29, both residents of Chino. According to police, a verbal dispute reportedly took place between Rivera and Martinez prior to the physical altercation. Rivera and Rodriguez are alleged to have returned to the location, which led to the confrontation where the stabbing occurred.
