Suspected Drug Trafficker Arrested – 3 Kilograms of Cocaine and Firearms Recovered

DUBLIN, CA — A suspected drug trafficker was arrested and 3 kilograms of cocaine were
recovered, along with three firearms.
The suspect identified as Dominic J. Smith, 49, of Dublin, also uses the alias Khan Ahmed Aziz Hassan.
His arrest on September 11 follows an investigation conducted by the Alameda County
Narcotics Task Force
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration served a search warrant
at a Dublin residence on behalf of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.
During the search “evidence consistent with the manufacturing of cocaine base” was
recovered from a home on Markleeville Road. A small child and a woman were also at the
home when the warrant was served, according to a prepared statement from the sheriff’s
office.
In addition to cocaine, packaging materials, scales and other evidence were found. Two
assault rifles and one handgun were recovered, and nearly $16,000 in cash.
Smith placed under arrest and booked at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. However, he is no
longer listed in the online inmate rooster.
The unidentified woman who was at the residence is on active federal probation, according to the sheriff’s office.
A lengthy list of drug- and firearms-related charges were filed on September 12 against
Smith. His charges include –
· Possession of cocaine base for sale
· Possession a controlled substance for sale
· Possession of an assault weapon
· Possession of a firearm by a felon
· Transportation of a controlled substance
Smith has prior convictions on his record, including a conviction for possession of cocaine
base for sale. He also has other prior arrests involving drugs and firearms.
