Inmate Dies in Custody at Yuba County Jail After Medical Emergency
MARYSVILLE, CA — “On Monday, September 8, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., correctional officers at the Yuba County Jail responded to an inmate experiencing a medical emergency. Officers, along with on-site medical staff, immediately began life-saving measures until paramedics and fire personnel arrived to take over care. Despite their combined efforts, the inmate was pronounced deceased.
The inmate, a 39-year-old male who had been in custody since his arrest in August 2025, is not being identified, pending notification of next of kin.”
