Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests in Regional Theft Cases
PLACER COUNTY, CA — “On August 7, 2025, Lincoln Police officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle linked to numerous thefts in the Lincoln region.
During the stop, officers located stolen merchandise from two retailers in a nearby city.
The investigation led to the arrest of:
• Elijah Peterson-Sloan, 20, of Fairfield
• Michael Peterson, 39, of Fairfield
Both were booked into the Placer County Jail on theft charges and conspiracy.
Due to Michael Peterson’s history of theft and likelihood to reoffend, a bail enhancement was requested and approved.
He is currently being held without bail pending his court appearance. Peterson is also facing additional charges from the Rocklin Police Department and had an active felony warrant from the Davis Police Department at the time of his arrest.
Elijah Peterson is charged with: felony committed while on release, conspiracy and receiving stolen property.
Michael Peterson is charged with conspiracy, grand theft and a warrants hold.”
