Auburn man accused of sexually abusing two children

Auburn Police have announced the arrest of a man on suspicion of sexually abusing two children.

Police say that, on June 5, they were alerted to an alleged incident at a residence in Auburn. A man, later identified as 65-year-old Keith Richard Jones, is accused of inviting two children — ages 7 and 9, respectively — into his home, exposing himself, showing them pornography, and inappropriately touching one of them.

The two children quickly fled Jones’ home and reported the incident to their parents, who then reported it to police.

On June 7, police arrived at Jones’ residence with a search warrant, ultimately arresting him on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, sending harmful material to seduce a minor, and arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes.

He was booked at the Placer County Jail on $150,000 bond, police said.
