Ty Oliver Leighton, 29, of Brentwood, was booked into the West County Detention Facility—ineligible for release on bond.

Leighton was arrested on July 29 for allegedly arranging to meet a 13-year-old with intent to commit
lewd and lascivious acts.

He was booked for additional unrelated charges on August 5 for burglary and grand theft.

Brentwood detectives arrested Leighton with help from the Martinez and Orinda police, Brentwood
police said in a prepared statement, “Leighton also had a felony warrant for commercial burglary that
occurred in the city of Brentwood.”

Leighton faces charges for attempting to contact a minor with intent to commit an offense, and lewd
acts upon a child. Plus, he faces unrelated charges for burglary and grand theft.

At the time of his arrest, Leighton was on felony probation for a prior conviction. So he also faces an
additional charge for revocation of probation.

Leighton has prior arrests on his record in Contra Costa County for burglary, possession of a
controlled substance, and receiving stolen property. He has been arrested 14 times since 2017 in
Contra Costa, Napa and San Joaquin counties.

There may be additional victims of child molestation.

“We are releasing Leighton’s photo in an effort to identify any additional victims,” Brentwood police said.

Anyone with information can contact the Brentwood Police Department at 925-809-7911.
His next scheduled court appearance is August 8.
