High Impact Policing Team Reportedly Arrests Known Drug Dealer at Almond Park in Orangevale
ORANGEVALE, CA — Deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Division High Impact Policing (HIP) team recently arrested an Orangevale man on a drug related warrant at approximately 6:43pm on July 28th. The arrest came as part of the HIP’s recent investigation into alleged drug dealing in the Orangevale area.
Deputies located the suspect, identified as Daniel Reed, 35, at Almond Avenue Park (5901 Almond Ave). At the time of his apprehension, Reed was found to be in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, a quantity of cash, and a digital scale.
A subsequent search warrant executed at Reed’s residence on Biruta Avenue yielded several additional concerning items. These included a Polymer80 handgun without a serial number also known as “Ghost Gun” two rifles, an unregistered Colt .45 handgun, and an unregistered Glock 19X. Authorities also recovered multiple loaded magazines, various types of ammunition, and approximately $35,000 in currency. Reed, who has a prior felony conviction, is legally prohibited from owning firearms or ammunition.
Reed was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, and booked into custody at 12:33am on July 29th, where he remains in custody and currently ineligible for bail. Reed is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Tuesday July 30th.
