SAN LORENZO, CA — Alameda County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two suspects
implicated in a recent armed robbery in San Lorenzo.
A prepared statement from the sheriff’s office identified the pair as Aseel Alhajj and Miguel Rivera.
Alhajj and Rivera allegedly committed an armed robbery near the 300 block of Paseo Grande
in San Lorenzo at approximately 1:30pm on Wednesday July 23rd.
The victim told responding deputies that two suspects, one with a firearm,
robbed their gold necklace.
Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the ordeal.
A witness provided deputies with a description of the vehicle used by the suspects, which as it
turns out was reported stolen. Investigators used surveillance cameras to locate the vehicle in
Oakland.
Deputies responded to the area of Oakland where the vehicle was seen, and safely
apprehended Alhajj and Rivera.
Deputies searched the suspects and found Rivera in possession of a loaded firearm with an extended magazine.
Alhajj and Rivera were placed under arrest on July 23 at approximately 1:30 p.m. Both
suspects were transported to Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. The case against the suspects
is being reviewed for possible charges.
The investigation involved the collaboration of detectives from the county gang suppression
unit, property crimes unit, and intelligence support unit.
