Illegal Firearms Confiscated, Three Arrested Across Two Incidents in San Jose
San Jose police have reportedly made three weapons arrests in two separate incidents earlier this week.
According to a press release by the San Jose Police Department, Around 12:57 a.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop around 1 a.m. on the morning of Monday, July 21.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two loaded handguns with high-capacity magazines and multiple rounds of ammunition. Both firearms were unregistered, according to police.
Two individuals were taken into custody and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on firearm-related charges.
A few hours later, officers attempted to stop a reckless driver who fled the scene. The vehicle was later found unoccupied, and the suspect was detained nearby on foot.
Officers reportedly found illegal narcotics on the suspect and located a loaded ghost gun and ammunition in a nearby bag.
The suspect, who was prohibited from possessing firearms, was also booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on narcotics and firearm-related offenses, police said.
