Man Arrested After Assaulting & Trying to Rape a Family Member
SACRAMENTO, CA — “Yesterday evening, just before 7 PM, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received a 911 call from an adult female on Pasadena Avenue in Sacramento stating that an adult male family member, later identified as 24-year-old Troy Wilkinson, assaulted her and tried to rape her. When Deputies arrived on scene, they contacted the victim, who advised them that Wilkinson was still inside the residence armed with a large knife.
As Deputies set up to contain the area, Wilkinson jumped over a fence in the backyard and entered a neighbor’s home. The neighbor was able to escape unharmed, and Deputies attempted to call Wilkinson out, so he could peacefully surrender. Wilkinson refused for some time, at one point starting a small fire in a sunroom using a torch, but wound up stomping the fire out himself fairly quickly. After continually imploring him to surrender, Wilkinson was taken into custody without further incident just before 8:30 PM.
Crime Scene Investigators and Detectives from the Sheriff’s Sexual and Elder Abuse Bureau (SEAB) responded to the scene and began their investigation. Wilkinson was formally arrested for multiple felonies and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he remains ineligible for bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 18.”
