The driver, identified as Sean Alexander Steele (40), was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Upon contact, officers observed a firearm in plain view beneath the steering column. Steele was detained, and a records check revealed he is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

A consent search of Steele revealed suspected fentanyl on his person. The firearm was found to be loaded with a round in the chamber and a full magazine.

A subsequent vehicle search uncovered:
* Additional live pistol and rifle ammunition
* Large capacity rifle magazines
* A large quantity of suspected fentanyl
* Items consistent with narcotics sales
* Burglary tools

Steele was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail on multiple felony charges.
