Truckee Man Convicted for Lewd Conduct and Child Sexual Abuse Material Following 2023 Investigation

TRUCKEE, CA  —  ‘‘CASE UPDATE: In December of 2023, Truckee PD Detectives investigated multiple reports of a male suspect having used a fake school district email address to contact adult women via unsolicited Facetime video calls. Upon answering these calls, victims discovered a male suspect exposing himself and engaging in other lewd conduct.

With the assistance of Investigators from the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office, TPD executed multiple search warrants resulting in the identification and arrest of Jesus Alonzo, 28, of Truckee. During his arrest, numerous electronic devices were seized and later searched, leading investigators to discover evidence of other felony crimes pertaining to the possession and manufacturing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

Last month, Jesus Alonzo was successfully convicted on both felony and misdemeanor charges pertaining to these acts. The conviction also triggered the requirement for lifetime registration as a Sex Offender in the State of California.

The Truckee Police Department would like to thank our community for reporting these incidents to law enforcement when they occurred, as these efforts directly assisted with Alonzo’s arrest and further discovery of other sexual offenses involving children.”
