Suspect in Sunnyvale Fatal Shooting Reportedly Arrested in Oakland

OAKLAND, CA — Authorities in the Bay Area have apprehended the primary suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Sunnyvale in late May.

According to a press release by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots at a residence on the 900 block of South Wolfe Road on the night of Thursday, May 29.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly located an adult male victim outside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers administered medical aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Jesus Aguilera of Sunnyvale, fled the area before officers arrived. Following an investigation,

Aguilera was ultimately located and arrested without incident on Friday, June 20, in Oakland. He was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of murder.
