24 Year Old Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder & Domestic Violence in Redding
REDDING, CA — “On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at approximately 12:58 PM, Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on the 7400 block of Bridge Lane, Redding. An adult female reported that her ex-boyfriend, later identified as 24-year-old Vincent Michael Souza, had stabbed her friend and fled the scene in a black passenger vehicle.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found an adult male with stab wounds to his neck and arm. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to fully recover.
Through the course of the investigation, Deputies learned that Souza had come to the residence to return clothing to the female. A verbal altercation began between Souza and the male stabbing victim and, as Souza attempted to leave the location in his vehicle, he accelerated his vehicle toward the male victim. The male struck Souza’s vehicle with a metal object, at which point Souza exited the vehicle and stabbed the victim. During this incident the female attempted to intervene and suffered an injury to her hand. She refused medical treatment.
A short time later, deputies located Souza’s vehicle at a residence on the 2000 block of Martian Way, Redding. Deputies contacted Souza’s father, 53-year-old Anthony Phillip Souza, who was uncooperative and resisted but was ultimately arrested for 148(a)(1) PC Obstruct/Resist a Peace Officer.
Vincent Souza emerged from the residence claiming he had been showering and was arrested without incident. A search warrant executed at the residence led to the discovery of bloody clothing that belonged to Vincent Souza and other evidence.
Vincent Souza was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of:
- 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder
- 273.5(a) PC Domestic Violence
- 245(a)(1) PC – Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Vincent Souza’s bail is set at $500,000.”
