ANTIOCH, CA — A suspected gang member has been arrested and charged for allegedly
murdering a man out for a walk with his dog.
The suspect Darnel M. Scott, 22 of Fairfield, remains in custody ineligible for release on bond, pending a court hearing on June 10.
The victim Natali Cisneros, 26, of Antioch, was fatally shot on January 6, shortly after 10 a.m.
Scott allegedly waited for hours outside the victim’s residence on the 3900 block of Rockford
Drive in Antioch.
When the victim exited his home multiple gunshots were fired at him.
Antioch officers responding to the reported gunfire found Cisneros lying on the ground. He
was transported to a hospital, where he died as a result of his gunshot wounds.
Antioch PD crime scene investigators and detectives with the violent crimes unit conducted
the homicide inquiry.
Fairfield police and specialized units of San Francisco Police Department assisted in the investigation.
On May 15, Antioch police in collaboration with Fairfield police, placed Scott under arrest. His
residence was searched and evidence pertaining to the homicide was recovered.
Scott was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. He has been arrested nine times since 2021, for
assaults, burglary, and firearms-related offenses.
On May 20 the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges and special
allegations against Scott –
* Murder
* Murder by lying in wait
* Street gang murder
* Personal and intentional discharge of a firearm
