Man Arrested During Traffic Stop After Madera Police Reportedly Find Antique Firearm

MADERA, CA  —  “Tonight, Officer Arnold conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sharon Blvd. and Country Club Dr. During the stop, he contacted Joshua Buentello (26) and discovered he was concealing a black powder derringer inside his waistband.

While these types of firearms may appear antique, they are still classified as firearms under the law. Although firearms are generally legal to possess inside your home, California requires a concealed weapons permit to carry one in the manner that Joshua had it concealed.

Joshua was arrested without incident and booked into the Madera County Jail for illegal firearm possession and possession of methamphetamine.”
